Prospective Students
Depending on funding availability, I may recruit a PhD student to join my research group in Fall 2025. Our current focus is on problems at the intersection of ML, time series, multi-agent systems, uncertainty quantification, and scientific modeling. Our main application domains are public & environmental health and community resilience. Some potential research directions are learning multi-scale dynamics, developing principled AI methods for bias and equity issues, and designing differentiable simulators grounded in scientific principles. This research position offers the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of AI while also addressing social impact problems. More details about our research can be found here.
Interested applicants can send their CV, transcripts, and a brief paragraph outlining their research experience and interests to alrodri@umich.edu with the subject line “Prospective PhD Student – YOUR_NAME.” Students who can articulate why they would be a good fit for the group will receive higher consideration. Due to the high volume of emails, I may not be able to respond to each one individually. Please understand that any lack of response does not reflect on you, and I apologize in advance if I am unable to reply to your email.
Note: We do not have positions for high school students.
